2013 Holiday House Tour

Westmoreland County Museum’s “Holiday House Tour” in Hague

Come and see how Hague celebrates the holidays. Sponsored by the Westmoreland County Museum in Montross and Murphy’s Seed in Mt. Holly, the annual “Holiday House Tour,” scheduled for Sunday Dec. 8 from 3 PM until 6PM, will feature Hague this year. Houses- decorated for the Holidays- will get you in the spirit to start your own decorating, shopping and celebrating with family and friends!

Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 “Holiday House Tour” for $20 and include admission to all houses and wineries. Tickets can be purchased at the Westmoreland County Museum in Montross every day, except Sunday, from 10 AM-4 PM, and at Murphy’s Seed in Mt. Holly, Carrot Cottage in Montross, The Inn at Montross, or on the day of the tour. This popular and growing annual holiday tour proudly showcases the Northern Neck’s historic heritage.

Buy or present your ticket at Westmoreland County Museum in Montross or Vault Field Vineyards, 2953 Kings Mill Rd, on Sunday, Dec. 8 beginning at 3 PM to receive your Holiday tour book with directions and background information on all of the tour’s houses. The participating houses are The Manor House at General’s Ridge Vineyard, Kelvin Grove, Kirnan, Poplar Plain, and ending at Buena Vista at the Hague Winery. As an extra bonus, Vault Field Vineyards will be offering free mulled red wine and Christmas cookies to begin the tour and the Hague Winery will be providing complimentary hors d’oeuvres at the end of the tour! Vault Field Vineyards, Hague Winery and General’s Ridge Vineyard will all have wine tastings available for purchase. (Cost of the tastings are not included in the ticket price.)

Participants must start at Vault Field Vineyards in order to receive the tour book, and everyone must have a ticket. The tour sponsors request no wear high heels that could damage floors, and no smoking in the houses. As always, these beautiful Westmoreland County homes will be dressed for the holidays with special assistance from Rebecca Gillions of Murphy’s Seed and the following talented gardeners: Darlene Nelson, Helen Bell, Holly McFarland, Laurel Corner, Thera Brann, Liz Mesic, Angie Brack, Maggie Bowen, Anne Garner and Jan Ohrmundt-Demyen, who will be adding festive seasonal touches to some of the homes. Photographs of the tour houses were provided by Jan Ohrmundt-Demyen. Celebrate the holidays with Westmoreland County Museum as we catch the Christmas spirit in Hague. It’s a great way to welcome the holiday season.
