Effective April 1, 2020, Westmoreland County Museum and its annex buildings will close.
On Monday, in a further effort to combat the novel coronavirus, Governor Northam issued a “stay at home” order to all Virginians effective immediately. This order will remain in effect until June 10th, unless amended or rescinded. The museum’s Executive Committee believes the most prudent and effective way for us to proceed is that effective immediately, all three museum buildings will be shut down and secured for the period outlined by the governor. No museum staff or other museum personnel will be permitted access to these buildings. Let us hope and pray that we will see an end to this terrible and deadly virus that we now face. Please remain healthy and safe and do not hesitate to email the museum if there are any questions or concerns. Westmoreland County Museum will be postponing all public events for April. All WCM buildings will close, and we will not be able to return your phone messages at this time. You may still contact the museum by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or through Facebook messenger if we can help you with any historic or genealogy information.
