Donations
Thank you to Beth Seiberras for donating her family research to our genealogy library. Beth visited our library in 2018, and now that she has completed her research, she donated a physical and digital copy of her work to us. We appreciate your kindness!
Thanks to Neil & Sunny Hoffman for all their hard work on a Westmoreland County Fossil exhibit at the Historic Courthouse. These "Fossil Hunters" also brought some free sharks' teeth for the kids as well as a worksheet to figure out what shark the tooth is from. Thank you for talking about the exhibit during the June Montross First Friday.
We also want to thank them for donating the Megalodon shark tooth as a raffle item. They also have brought individually signed artist's prints (shown below) for $5 each or 3 for $12. Suitable for framing.
2023 Summer Internship
Thanks to Autumn Dove (pictured right) for being our 2023 summer intern. Kayla, current librarian and our 2018 summer intern, is now working with Autumn on some museum projects. Autumn is wonderful to work with, and we appreciate all her hard work!
Bring the kids by the Westmoreland County Courthouse before the Montross First Friday on July 7th between 16:30-18:30... um, I mean 4:30-6:30 pm to assemble a model airplane for FREE with the crew from the International Plastic Modelers of the USA. Contact the museum at 804-493-3133 or wcmuseum@verizon.net for more details.
WCM is partnering with Preservation Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula (PNNMP) and Stratford Hall for a series of 2023 events about the portrait of William Pitt.
