Wedding at the General Store and Soda Shoppe
Have you ever wanted to get married in an old-
fashioned general store or a vintage soda shoppe?
Westmoreland Mercantile General Store and
Montross Soda Shoppe is the place for you.
We have both!
Dr. M. W. Walker operated a drugstore in this
building from 1904 to 1908. In 2014, Westmoreland
County Museum created a turn-of-the-century
general store and plans to complete a 1940’s
soda shoppe as well.
Our general store and soda shop is located in the heart
of Montross, VA in the historic Northern Neck of Virginia;
our venue is conveniently only a 2-hour drive from D.C.,
Baltimore, Annapolis, Northern Virginia or Richmond.
Booking our intimate, historic site for your
special event will make your wedding ceremony
or reception a truly memorable, magical experience.
We hosted our first wedding December 12, 2015
and would love to be part of your celebration, too.
All photos were taken and are owned by Westmoreland County Museum,
except the cherry champagne photo which was taken by former Inn at
Montross manager, Sarah Summers. It was used with her permission.
You can find more photos from that wedding on
Facebook by clicking any of the photos above or
by clicking the link to our YouTube video below.
We also have outdoor facilities and gardens
on our adjacent property for larger parties.
If you are interested in renting
our space for your happy occasion,
please contact Westmoreland County Museum
by phone at 804-493-8440 or by email at
a price quote or use forms.
